Bandits

It was not a good week for cakes in our house. This is what happened to Brock's cake (thankfully, the day after his birthday). The same culprits that got the last cake, Butch Cassidy (Ivy) and the Sundance Kid (Troy), were responsible for this cake's untimely end.

And why is Ivy Butch Cassidy, you may ask? Well, before/after/during the Great Cake Mash-up, the two partners in crime also got ahold of our hair clippers.

Um, and there's three of those bald spots on Ivy, and one on Troy. (See it? A few inches above her ear? Right where hair is supposed to be growing?) Troy insists that Ivy did it all herself. And yes, I believe him. If he's willing to just stand there while Ivy puts mascara all over him, then why wouldn't he just let her shave his head?

We're lucky enough to have bought some clippers that charge, so you don't have to plug them in. Convenient, huh? And they just happened to be in a drawer that Ivy never opens. Oh, and she also used the scissors to do a few choice chops, like right on top of her head.

Even though she's been our only child to style her own hair with cutting equipment, I'm glad she didn't, like, shave her eyeball or something. And I've been able to do an old man comb-over to cover the spots enough. And eventually it will grow in, and because I've learned my lesson the clippers are oh-so very high, on an unclimbable shelf. So we're safe from any other hair mishaps. I hope.

I cringe to think of the day that Ivy can open doors, though. Not that her fellow outlaw wouldn't help her out with that. Grr.

Oh, Judas Priest. You are a really good sport about this. I would be screaming like a banshee for, like, several days!! But hair does grow. This I know. Ivy is so QUICK. I cannot believe how quickly she moves and gets into stuff.

Ivy is quite the little girl to keep up with!:) That cake and the mess look like it was a lot of fun!! HEhe

I'm so sorry she buzzed some spots on her head! I'm very lucky that Brynnan hasn't ever been interested in doing that! He always seemed like the kinda kid that would've been though. Hopefully, their hair grows back fast!:)

I am terrified for the day one of my girls might cut their hair. Emy and Macie's hair is always, always pulled back, so I fear they they will chop off an entire pony tail or something crazy. Their hair takes a life time to grow!

I haven't had any hair cutting incidents yet thank goodness, I better knock on wood. Kids are so lovely aren't they, always in to things they shouldn't be. Hadley is getting worse and worse. She is such a climber and it all over the place and into EVERYTHING. I'm sure summer will be interesting with her.

Aye eye eye....
okay so remember MULAN? 'member when she cuts her own hair at the beginning of the movie?
Yeah, my Daisie did that to her self...got "School Scissors"--ya know those blunt-edged things that barely work on paper?? Yep, cut her hair right down to the scalp.
Took two years to grow it out and lotsa trips to Costcutters to fix it. TAKE LOTS OF PICTURES!!!!

oh my gosh! it seems like each of your kids has gotten a little more mischevious. ivy is so dang cute though... it's got to be hard to get mad at her! i think when i was little i had bangs and i remembered how mom used to trim them. so i tried to trim them once... of course it turned out to be a disaster! and it was craig to the rescue! (he has saved my hair a few times; thats why i'm so hesitant to do anything drastic to it anymore)

Things are never dull at your house, are they? I think nature makes kids that stinkin' cute on purpose so as to discourage us big people from maiming them when they do kidish things. Jenny's little girl cut her hair off months ago and it is still a mess. I hope Ivy's grows back much faster.

Oh my. It's easy with boys and cutting their hair because it grows back fast. Good work with the combing over. On the bright side of things, aren't you glad you don't have boring children?
