On the 3rd, my awesome neighbor and friend ("nend", if you will, or "frayber") Arin had a bunch of people over for a barbeque and games and smores. She's social like that. Then we headed to my Aunt's house where her neighbors do the illegal/way amazing fireworks in their cul-de-sac. And we missed it, because I heard "10 p.m." and really it was "at dusk". But we still got dessert there, and I got to see my cute cousins.
On the 4th, we found a new tradition we want to pursue. We had a barbeque at my parents', then went to Wall-E the movie with maybe 10 other people in the movie theater. Then I sat on my front steps and watched the city fireworks. Yes, they were far away, but I didn't have to fight crowds. It rocked.
On the 5th, besides getting ready for company to come into town, we went swimming with my family and shot fireworks that night. P.S.-if you wait until the day after the 4th, you can get a major discount on fireworks!
Happy Birthday, America!

I love your new blog header! That picture is so typical of what it is like having a family pic taken! The 4th was lots of fun, let's do it again sometime. Maybe next year! Hmm.
Okay, here's my beef with the slide show - I cannot figure out how to steal some pictures from the selection. Do you know how? Can you show me?
